Licensing Authority Statistics

This dataset contains information sent to the Gambling Commission from licensing authorities detailing their gambling related licensing activity. Licensing authorities (LAs) have a statutory duty to provide specific information to the Commission about aspects of gambling regulation – for example, the grant of premises licences. The Commission collates and analyses the information it receives from LAs to help it, LAs and the Government understand the local and national landscape of gambling regulation. The Commission continues to work with licensing authorities in order to maximise the efficiency of data collection. As this is the third year of reporting we are able to provide year-on-year analysis of the data. This includes data provided by LAs who submitted previous returns late after the established deadline. As a consequence, the data provided in this report may differ from that published previously.

DFID Workforce Management Information - Public body

Monthly management information on staff numbers and paybill costs in DFID. For workforce numbers, both payroll and non-payroll (contingent labour, including consultants) information is provided, split between full-time equivalents (FTE) and headcount, with payroll staff numbers mapped to standard Civil Service grades. For costs, payroll paybill information is broken down into its component parts i.e. salaries, allowances, employers pensions contributions etc. For non-payroll costs, these are split between costs for consultancy and those of other non-payroll workers. Staffing numbers are as at the last day of the month for the reference month. Cost information is that for the reference month. For baseline 2010/11 returns, staffing numbers are as at 31 March 2011, and paybill costs are for the financial year 2010/11.

Bona Vacantia Unclaimed Estates and Adverts

The Bona Vacantia Division advertises the estates of deceased persons for kin to identify their own entitlement. The list available below contains all unclaimed estates held by the Bona Vacantia Division which are both newly advertised and historic (which were previously available in the Historic Unclaimed Estates List). Please be aware that updates to these documents may take an hour to become live and accessible for download. Further information can be found on the Bona Vacantia website at http://www.bonavacantia.gov.uk From May 2013, the historic cases will include any genealogical information held on our electronic case records. This will generally include the deceased’s marital status, maiden name, and date & place of birth. From June/July 2013, we will be updating our electronic records with any genealogical information held on archived paper records, and will be updating the most recent Estates on the list first. As of 1 July 2013 the list of historic unclaimed estates will be amalgamated into the current list of advertised estates. Newly advertised estates will appear daily at the top of the list. As the list is updated the estates that appeared the day before will be transferred into the alphabetical list. Any estates where the Treasury Solicitor no longer has an interest, e.g. where a claim to the estate has been admitted, will be removed daily. The case reference for each estate has now been added to the list and should be used in correspondence. Please note: The list cannot be guaranteed to be complete and correct and no warranties are given or implied to that effect; the Treasury Solicitor does not accept any responsibility for any loss whatsoever which might result from reliance thereon.

Scotland's wildness - lack of artefacts

One of four component layer of the Scottish wildness map. This layer shows the absence of the visibility of modern artefacts (or detractors). The dataset is on a scale of 1-256 indicating relative levels of visual influence. Consequently the data is best viewed at a national or regional scale. The methodology is adapted from the 2008 Wildness Study in the Cairngorms National Park. NextMap Digital Surface Model (DSM) gives the height of the surface including the detractors from which a viewshed can be produced. Viewsheds up to 15 km were created for 3 feature layers 1) Buildings and other structures, 2) Railway lines, roads and tracks and 3) Pylons A fourth viewshed up to 30 km was created for wind turbines. The resulting calculations were then re-scaled 1-256 to produce the map of lack of human artefacts
