This is the fourth iteration of the Government funded construction pipeline and includes some 1200 projects and programmes, around £40 billion of investment to 2014/15 and beyond (excluding rail and other regulated and private sector infrastructure investment). Since the April publication the Government has worked together with industry to improve the pipeline. This latest edition is substantially improved in terms of its level of granularity and its ‘reach’ beyond the major construction spending departments. Progressively the Government will capture all central government construction spend. This latest publication extends the data on local roads maintenance, now covering over 150 local authorities and boroughs. The government construction pipeline will be updated twice a year (it was last updated November 2012). This latest iteration of the pipeline is the first to be published working with Barbour-ABI; the private sector partner recently appointed by government to manage, maintain and to develop further the pipeline. To this end Barbour-ABI and Government are currently consulting with industry and government clients on current usage and future improvements.
